Modern Kintsugi
Thu, Sep 17 |  6-8pm  |  $85
Thu, Oct 15 |  6-8pm  |  $85
10 spots only. Sign up coming soon.

In partnership with Gather, we are delighted to bring you Kintsugi, an art that embodies new beauty made through imperfections. It’s an artistry of mending broken pieces, symbolically representing how brokenness in our lives can transform to places of beauty and power. Instead of hiding chipped and broken parts, when imperfections are pronounced with the gold, symbolizing the light, you behold something that’s more beautiful. It’s an art form of mending to make new. In these sessions, we’ll have an open time to share personal discovery with each other as we apply Kintsugi. We’ll share a time of personal reflection and beholding through working with our hands.

Please do not break things to bring. We will supply cracked, chipped, and broken ceramics. Or, bring a piece you already have. No glass, please.

Limited to 10 spots.

Wooden Avatar Painting
Thu, Nov 12 |  6-8pm  |  $85
10 spots only. Sign up coming soon.

We all long to be seen and recognized. And there’s always an occasion to celebrate the people (and pets) in your life. In this session, Gather founder and graphic designer Esther Mun will help you create a lil’ piece of art that represents you or someone you love. We’ll look at how you can capture a person’s essence—just with a hairline and well-plotted eyes. We’ll ask what beauty you see in this person that you want to bring forth. And then we’ll sketch, paint, and podge a personalized wooden figure. After all, who wood-n’t want a selfie?

Limited to 10 spots.
